Information

Chambers continues to work remotely and is open for business as usual.

Please read this information on the procedures we have in place to facilitate remote working.

'Remote Working' Guidelines

  • Dependent on our clerk receiving from you all instructions, papers and updates in electronic form by email or file sharing.
  • Working flexibly with clients via telephone and other electronic conferencing facilities.
  • When sending documents these need to be indexed, tabbed and saved, ideally in .PDF format (with draft documents for our input in Word) and sent to the clerk and relevant barrister (if applicable) via email.
  • Bundling of papers into a single .PDF or Word attachment (or series of bundles) and bookmarking where possible.
  • If a single attachment is not possible please provide all relevant documents as attachments (or upload) in a single email, please note that emails attached to or embedded within other emails creates a real risk of information being lost or overlooked and our concern is not to inadvertently lose or overlook important documents.
  • Should any difficulties arise please contact us to discuss alternative arrangements (file sharing for example).  The Court service have also offered guidance on bundle preparation details of which can be found here.
  • In the interest of ensuring GDPR-compliance, we can also provide a secure site for sharing documents.
  • If there is no alternative but to send papers in hard copy; please get in touch to give us advance warning so that a secure remote drop off can be arranged.

If formal representation is required we have barristers and solicitors that can further assist should there be a requirement. As ever our philosophy of being involved on a need-to-know basis of privacy and upmost confidentiality remains.

We will continue to cooperate with the England and Wales bar regulator to navigate through the difficulties created by our Head of Chambers stand against corruption which has been widely reported in the legal industry media insofar as the effect this has on her barrister role only.
